Meet Priya Vadivel
Ward 1 deserves strong leadership, fresh ideas, and a councillor who puts residents first.
Priya Vadivel brings a powerful combination of professional expertise and deep community roots to Ward 1. With a Master’s in Information Technology and decades of leadership experience with Fortune 500 companies, she knows how to navigate complex challenges, make tough decisions, and deliver real results — exactly what Ward 1 needs at City Hall.
As a successful business owner serving communities across the GTA, Priya understands what it takes to create jobs, manage budgets responsibly, and deliver results. She believes every dollar should be spent wisely and that accountability to the people you serve is not optional — it is essential.
But what truly sets Priya apart is her commitment to community.
Long before there was an election campaign, Priya was already showing up for her community. As the Founder of the Highbush Neighbourhood Association, she helped give residents a stronger voice and brought neighbours together around the issues that matter most. Through her volunteer work with DARS, St. Paul’s on the Hill Community Food Bank, Ajax-Pickering Road Watch, 100 Women Who Care Durham, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 606, Priya has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to service, compassion, and community leadership.
Priya doesn’t just talk about community — she builds it. Now, she’s ready to be a strong, effective voice for Ward 1 residents.
Those who know Priya know they can count on her. She listens. She cares. She speaks honestly from the heart. Whether she agrees or disagrees, residents can expect openness, respect, and authenticity. She believes leadership starts with listening and that the best solutions come from working together.
Priya is running because she believes residents deserve better.
Better accountability for how tax dollars are spent.
Better planning that puts infrastructure, parks, transit, and community needs ahead of unchecked growth.
Better support for seniors, families, and local neighbourhoods.
And better representation from a councillor who is accessible, responsive, and committed to serving the people of Ward 1 every day.
This campaign is about building a Ward 1 where residents are heard, neighbourhoods are connected, and every decision is guided by what is best for our community — not special interests.
Priya isn’t running to be a politician. She’s running to be your voice.
Together, we can build a safer, stronger, and more connected Ward 1.
