About Priya Vadivel

Priya Vadivel brings a powerful combination of professional expertise and deep community roots to Ward 1. With a Master’s in Information Technology and decades of leadership experience with Fortune 500 companies, she knows how to navigate complex challenges, make tough decisions, and deliver real results — exactly what Ward 1 needs at City Hall.

As a business owner serving the GTA, Priya understands job creation, responsible budgeting, and accountability to the people she serves.

A proud Highbush resident, Priya founded the Highbush Neighbourhood Association to give residents a stronger voice. She volunteers at the local food bank, supports DARS, is a member of Legion Branch 606 serving veterans, and has led community initiatives that bring people together.

Priya doesn’t just talk about community — she builds it. Now, she’s ready to be a strong, effective voice for Ward 1 residents.

  • Fight against unreasonable tax increases and bring accountability for public spending.

  • Growing our commercial tax base to keep Pickering affordable for families.

Sustainable Development

  • Advocate for adequate community spaces and infrastructure for Pickering’s growing population.

  • Building a vibrant Pickering while protecting the green spaces we love.

Seniors Advocacy

  • Advocate for an effective seniors property tax relief program that supports more seniors.

  • Advocate for independent seniors community living spaces that support independence, connection, and quality of life.

Public Safety

  • Advocate for traffic calming and street lighting, sidewalks and safe routes on residential streets.

  • Create community safety groups that enhance public safety and collaboration with law enforcement.
